why Join
our Classes
Making your money last throughout retirement has become more challenging. People are living longer and fewer retirees have traditional pensions. In recent years the volatility of the stock and bond markets has been high and interest rates paid by banks have been low. While most retirees are covered by Social Security, this program also faces financial challenges.

Michael Oxford, Landon Randall, and Austin Fetch have collectively been in the financial services industry for over 50 years. After the stock market crash of 2000 and 2008, they realized that there was a need for people in their community to be better informed with regard to their financial futures. It was then that they decided to teach adult financial classes as a means to help educate people in the community on how to plan for a successful retirement.
Out of this initiative, Western Maricopa Adult Education (WMAED) was born. Since inception, WMAED has held workshops in 4 west valley college campuses, and has helped to educate over 5000 people.
In 2023, the “Dare to Retire®” movement was born after witnessing people who had put their dreams and passions for retirement on hold for far too long. People who had worked and saved for years, but without proper education and planning, didn’t have the courage to take the leap into retirement when they could have. It was then that Western Maricopa Adult Education became Dare to Retire® U.
With a variety of workshops such as: Retirement Income Planning, Social Security Maximization, Taxes in Retirement, and Trusts, Wills & Taxes, their goal is to help families nearing retirement, or in early retirement, make informed decisions, improve their retirement experience, and help them to realize their retirement dreams.
